Offer independent feed advice for horses - Why independent feed advice?

My advice is independent and free - for you this means that I do not sell feed and do not work with any feed manufacturers.
In addition to species-appropriate husbandry and exercise, feeding is also part of a healthy horse. Without good feeding, there is no long-term healthy horse and no performance.
Depending on what breed your horse is, how it is ridden or how old it is, but also how it is kept, there are differences in feeding.

Reasons for a feed consultation:
- You want to feed your horse correctly
- Your horse is too fat or too thin and you want it to look good again
- Your horse has dental problems or is older and has problems eating hay
- Does your horse have stomach problems, for example gastritis, stomach ulcers
- Has intestinal problems, e.g. watery stools, IBD, colic
- Does your horse have laminitis, Cushing's disease (PPID), EMS, MIM/PSSM
- Does it have skin diseases, for example sweet itch, mauke, rash
- Does it have osteoarthritis
- Is your horse muscularly poor and needs to build up its muscles
- Pregnant mares, foals, stallions

How does an initial consultation work?
We take a short tour of the facility so that I can get an impression of the stabling and training options.
The feed consultation takes place at your stables and you should plan 60 to 90 minutes for it
You will be sent a questionnaire in advance which we will go through together at the stable.
If there is a hay analysis, this is an advantage, otherwise I take average values. If there are blood values or other findings, they will be included
A detailed medical history is taken in the stable. The feed and general condition is assessed and the training condition is looked at
Measurement of the BCS and the Crasty Nack Score
Existing illnesses are discussed if they are relevant for the ration calculation and included in the calculation

I then work out the feed plan at home on the basis of the information obtained. It takes about 10 to 14 days and you will then receive it by e-mail or, if you wish, by post.

If there are any problems with the implementation of the feed recommendation, such as the horse not eating the feed or not developing as desired over the next 4 to 6 weeks, please let me know. Since not every horse is the same, sometimes it has to be adjusted again.
15 minutes of debriefing and adjustment are for nothing.

150,- francs plus travel costs from 10 km from my address 1,- franc per kilometer. I try to combine appointments so that the travel costs are as low as possible
